Dr. Aida Habtezion is an internationally recognized physician-scientist and biotechnology executive with extensive experience in clinical medicine, translational research, drug development, and global biopharmaceutical leadership.

She previously served as Chief Medical Officer and Head of Worldwide Medical & Safety at Pfizer, where she led the company's global medical and patient safety organization, providing strategic medical leadership across a broad portfolio of innovative medicines and vaccines. Throughout her career, she has played a pivotal role in advancing the development and responsible use of therapies that have improved the lives of patients around the world.

Prior to joining Pfizer, Dr. Habtezion was a tenured professor at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she built a distinguished career as a physician-scientist, clinician, educator, and research leader. Her work advanced understanding of the immune mechanisms underlying inflammatory, fibrotic, and malignant diseases, contributing to new approaches for the treatment of complex immune-mediated conditions. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and has been widely recognized for her contributions to biomedical research, clinical innovation, and academic medicine.

Dr. Habtezion brings to Bio Usawa deep expertise in medical innovation, translational science, governance, and global health. As a member of the Board of Directors, she supports the company's mission to expand access to high-quality biologic medicines through sustainable biotechnology manufacturing and scientific excellence across Africa.
