With the recently launched ACHIEVE Africa (Advancing Capacity for Health Innovation, Equity, and Vaccine Ecosystems in Africa) initiative, the continent is charting its own path toward resilient vaccine and biologics development.
By prioritizing local research, manufacturing, and supply chains, the five-year initiative responds to today’s realities while preparing for tomorrow’s health challenges.
“Health sovereignty ultimately means building systems that allow Africa to develop, produce, and deliver lifesaving innovations for its own people,” said Richard Bishumba, Director of Corporate Affairs at Bio Usawa.
This vision is reinforced by innovators such as Bio Usawa, whose work underscores the importance of African-owned, African-led biotechnological solutions. As global health funding landscapes evolve, Africa’s expanding scientific and industrial base proves that sustainable progress is not only possible — it is already underway.
Bio Usawa is participating in the Biomanufacturing Regulation & Market Access Forum taking place March 24–25 in Accra.
